The Bears tears…

..are it seems just as false as those of the crocodile.

The condemnation by President Medvedev of the Russian Federation concerning the kindapping and murder of human rights activist Natalia Estemirova, is almost laughable

There is a very good chance that she was ‘removed’ by persons linked to Chechan president Ramzan Kadyrov, who is Putins little blue eyed thug boy in the Caucasus.

I remember that in the 80’s and 90’s it used to be said that in the US the type of person most likely to be shot was a young black male in his late teens-early 20’s. in the Russian Fed the people most likely to be shot are journo’s and human rights activists who disagree with Putins vision of a ‘renewed’ Russia.

However it is not all bad news despite the UN observers being kicked out of georgia cus Russia doesn’t want them seeing them break their truce agreement with Georgia. I read this brief article on the Janes website

So the chances of the Russian navy being a real threat in the future has dminished. but also what is interesting is the savage attack on the Russian Army’s ability to prosecute a war against anything larger than a small country.

To lose six aircraft against a smaller poorer country is bad luck, to have shot down half of them yourself is just basic incompetance.

So the bear is once again looking motheaten but obviously still has some claws.

…cliches sound so much cleverer in French, don’t you think? But cliche or not, it’s true. That’s how it became a cliche.
